Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge- REVIEW! (Want a flawless base?)

Hey guys!
Today I'm reviewing the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge that i purchased around a week ago from iHerb.com
Now we all know that the blogosphere has been going crazy raving about the Beauty Blender sponge for quite sometime now. I really tried hard but at the end of the day i really could not justify spending INR 1300/- ($20) on a piece of sponge. Its almost like the lovely Samantha Chapman heard my prayers and tadaaaaaaaa..... presenting the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for less than 400/- bucks ($6).... yes you heard it right, i got it for $6 from iHerb.
But if pitted against the undisputed Beauty Blender, does the much cheaper economical Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge compromise on quality? or will the Real Technique Miracle Complexion Sponge give Beauty Blender a run for its money? Read on!!

Packaging

The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (hence referred to as RT Sponge) comes in the basic RT packaging in a plastic box. Nothing fancy but pretty decent.

Product

The RT Sponge comes in light orange colour and is oval or egg-shaped as opposed to the tear drop shaped Beauty Blender. When the sponge is dry, it is smooth but not very soft nor very bouncy as i had imagined it to be.
While the Beauty Blender Sponge is basically a tear drop shaped sponge, I loved the fact that the RT Sponge was differently shaped and was multi dimensional. It has a a flat surface, a pointed edge and a rounded side which aids in different types of application.

Application

I was a lil' apprehensive about using the sponge because there were no instructions or tutorials on the package. So far the sponge seemed ok but not super impressive. Then i wet the sponge and BOOM!! Suddenly the sponge was 50 times bigger, super soft, super smooth and super bouncy. It was like magic and i kid you not.

See how bouncy it is.....hahahahaha!!!
Based on my experience and a lil' bit of research, this is how the sponge is to be used for best results.

1. Hold the sponge under running water until its well soaked.
2. Next, squeeze out all the water from the sponge. I add an extra step here by covering the sponge with a towel and squeezing it again.
3. With the flat /slant surface of the sponge apply foundation in strokes for sheer coverage. For heavier coverage dab the sponge onto the skin.
4. With the help of the pointed end of the sponge, apply concealer under your eyes or corners of the nose.
5. Dab the rounded side of the sponge in a rolling motion to blend concealer.

....And you will achieve the most flawless finish to your foundation and concealer.

To clean the sponge after use, wash it with a shampoo and hold it under running water until clean. Let it air dry. DONE!!

Final Verdict

I am in love with this sponge to a point where i may never use a foundation brush ever again.
With this sponge, i never have to worry about the streaky finish that a foundation brush gives.
Also, because the sponge is damp, it never drinks up the foundation like some brushes.
The sponge is so versatile. You can apply foundation, concealer, cream blushes and powder with one tool instead of an arsenal of brushes. Now that sealed the deal for me.

Is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge better than the Beauty Blender??

To be honest, i don't own a beauty blender so i cannot comment on that. What i can vouch for is that the Real Techniques Sponge is of exceptional quality and gives awesome results and for that price it is criminal to not give it a try.

Will i recommend?

Hell yeah!! Im recommending this baby with a passion.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge v/s Beauty Blender.... which is your favourite? Comment!!

Happy weekend.... xoxo
